Soccer: Daniel Arzani Transfers to Manchester City

Socceroos’ Daniel Arzani has signed for Manchester City.
The 19-year-old arrived in the UK on Wednesday to finalise his transfer from Melbourne City FC. Manchester City noted Arzani’s remarkable performance at the World Cup this year as well as his 2017-18 A-League Campaign, which the club called his “breakthrough season”.
“In a short period of time, Daniel has developed into one of Australia’s brightest young stars and has demonstrated the drive and raw talent required for success at the highest level,” said City’s managing director of global football Brian Marwood.
Arzani is expected to be loaned out to Scotland’s Celtic FC as part of a “development pathway”.

Melbourne City head coach Warren Joyce said he looks forward to seeing Arzani develop into one of Australia’s best. “Daniel has worked hard over the past couple of years and took his chance when it came,” said Joyce.
“Having the chance to train and play in Europe is a dream come true and a challenge I’m confident will only help me improve as a player,” said Arzani.
